Their debut single, 82689, reached number three on the British charts in April 1983, and their debut album, 83843, reached the UK Top 20, but later releases did not match this early success before the band broke up after three years.

Essential Boxerbeat is a one-disc CD compilation by JoBoxers, released in 2022 on Cooking Vinyl.
