Ambrose Akinmusire | On the Tender Spot of Every Calloused Moment | CD

Ambrose Akinmusire is an American jazz trumpeter and composer whose recordings combine ensemble improvisation with carefully shaped original material. His work explores tone, space and the relationship between individual expression and group playing.

Released in 2020, this quartet album features pianist Sam Harris, bassist Harish Raghavan and drummer Justin Brown. Its eleven original compositions return to an acoustic band setting after the broader instrumentation of Origami Harvest.
