Bobby Lyle | Straight and Smooth | 2CD

Bobby Lyle is an American jazz pianist whose work spans acoustic playing and contemporary, groove-oriented arrangements. His recordings place keyboard melodies in different ensemble settings, from spare accompaniment to fuller band textures.

Straight and Smooth presents two related programmes within a two-CD set. The release explores the contrast between straight-ahead jazz and smoother contemporary arrangements, giving Lyle's keyboard playing two distinct contexts.
