He released his first album in 1973, and his backing group is the E Street Band. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a performer and into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1999.
Western Stars is a one CD album by Bruce Springsteen, released by Columbia in Europe on 14 June 2019 as his first new studio album in five years. Its 13 tracks draw on highways and desert spaces, isolation and community, and home and hope, with inspiration partly taken from the Southern California pop records of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Ron Aniello co-produced it with Springsteen, and Patti Scialfa provides vocals and vocal arrangements on four tracks. Guests include Jon Brion, David Sancious, Charlie Giordano and Soozie Tyrell.
