Cathedral | Freak Winter | 2LP

Cathedral is a UK doom metal band formed in 1989 in Coventry by vocalist Lee Dorrian and guitarist Mark Griffiths, who met at a Carcass show. The band's sound moved gradually from slow, dirge-like arrangements on the debut album 670391 towards Black Sabbath-inspired heavy metal. Dorrian and co-founding guitarist Garry Jennings stayed with the band throughout its run, and in 2013, after 24 years together, they put it to rest.

Freak Winter (Live) is a limited edition double vinyl LP by Cathedral, released on Rise Above Records in 2020 in the UK. It was recorded live at the band's 20th anniversary concert in London in 2010 and presents a set of favourites from the band's career up to that point. The release is categorised as rock, with doom metal and psychedelic rock styles.
