Chet Baker was a leading voice of cool jazz, known for his lyrical trumpet phrasing and intimate vocal style. His understated approach brought unusual vulnerability to both standards and modern jazz compositions, and his recordings from the 1950s onward remain central to his reputation.

Recorded in 1983, Mr. B pairs Baker with pianist Michel Graillier and bassist Riccardo Del Fra for reflective readings of pieces by Herbie Hancock, Horace Silver and Dave Brubeck alongside original material. This silver-vinyl edition also includes the bonus tracks “White Blues” and “Father X-mas”, with liner notes by Wim van Eyle.
