Claude Debussy was a French composer, born on 22 August 1862 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye and died on 25 March 1918 in Paris. He is sometimes seen as the first Impressionist composer, although he vigorously rejected the term, and was among the most influential composers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Debussy / Hahn is a one-disc CD album released on 7 January 2022 by BR-Klassik. It presents French art songs by Claude Debussy and Reynaldo Hahn, including the cantata La damoiselle élue in Howard Arman's version with two pianos. Christiane Karg and Anna-Maria Palii sing as sopranos, Gerold Huber and Max Hanft play piano, and the Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks is conducted by Howard Arman.
