Corydon Singers / Matthew Best | American Choral Music | CD

The Corydon Singers, conducted by Matthew Best, present a programme of American choral writing. Works by Bernstein, Barber and Copland bring contrasting vocal textures and expressive melodic lines together, giving individual voices and the blended character of the choir an active role.

American Choral Music includes Bernstein: Chichester Psalms – I. Maestoso ma energico, Bernstein: Chichester Psalms – II. Andante con moto, ma tranquillo, Bernstein: Chichester Psalms – III. Prelude / Peacefully. The programme places Corydon Singers / Matthew Best’s distinctive performances within a sequence of contrasting musical passages, presented here in a CD edition.
