Count Basie Orchestra | All About That Basie | CD

The Count Basie Orchestra is one of the defining ensembles of big-band jazz. Its music centres on buoyant swing rhythms, carefully balanced brass and reed sections, and the blues feeling associated with its founder, pianist Count Basie.

All About That Basie brings the orchestra's swing tradition into a contemporary setting under Scotty Barnhart. The programme places familiar songs such as My Cherie Amour and April in Paris alongside blues material, showing the range of a modern big band.
