The Danish National Symphony Orchestra plays this set of Carl Nielsen's symphonies under conductor Fabio Luisi. Over six years before this recording, the orchestra and Luisi gave live performances of the symphonies in Europe, the USA and Asia.
The Symphonies is a 3 CD set released by Deutsche Grammophon on 21 April 2023. It is a physical release of three albums that had previously been available only as digital releases, with the symphonies arranged in chronological order. The recordings were made in Copenhagen between 2019 and 2022, and Bernhard Güttler produced them.
