Darkthrone | A Blaze In The Northern Sky (Phd Exclusive Clear Vinyl) | LP

Darkthrone is a Norwegian metal band from Kolbotn, formed in 1987 and initially founded as Black Death in 1986. The band started as a death metal group, and after releasing Soulside Journey it abandoned technical death metal for black metal. Its sound has since taken in traditional heavy metal, thrash, doom, death and speed metal, as well as crust punk. Since 1993 Darkthrone has been a duo of Fenriz (Gylve Nagell) and Nocturno Culto (Ted Skjellum), and the band mainly stopped playing live after 1991, with its last show in 1996 featuring Satyr as a one-off live bassist.

This is a 2026 limited edition reissue of the album A Blaze in the Northern Sky on Peaceville, issued as a single stereo LP pressed on clear vinyl. The songs are credited to Darkthrone, and the album is in the black metal style.
