Darkthrone | Soulside Journey (Phd Exclusive Clear Vinyl) | LP

Darkthrone is a Norwegian metal band from Kolbotn, formed in 1987 and initially founded as Black Death in 1986. The band started as a death metal group, and after releasing Soulside Journey it abandoned technical death metal for black metal. Its sound has since taken in traditional heavy metal, thrash, doom, death and speed metal, as well as crust punk. Since 1993 Darkthrone has been a duo of Fenriz (Gylve Nagell) and Nocturno Culto (Ted Skjellum), and the band mainly stopped playing live after 1991, with its last show in 1996 featuring Satyr as a one-off live bassist.

Soulside Journey is a single LP vinyl album by Darkthrone, issued by Peaceville in 2026 as a limited edition reissue on clear vinyl. Darkthrone and Tomas Skogsberg are credited as producers, with Ulf Cederlund as co-producer on guitars. Nocturno Culto plays lead guitar, Fenriz plays drums and wrote the lyrics, Dag Nilsen plays bass and Zephyrous plays rhythm guitar.
