Gilkyson, Eliza | Nocturne Diaries, The | CD

Eliza Gilkyson is an American songwriter whose work places clear storytelling and emotional observation within a roots influenced musical setting. Her voice and acoustic arrangements give the songs intimacy, while the writing connects private experience with wider questions about society and the world around her.

The Nocturne Diaries brings Eliza Gilkyson's thoughtful writing into a roots influenced album setting. Personal observation and wider reflection share the same lyrical space, while the arrangements give individual songs different levels of warmth and intensity. Her measured vocal delivery keeps the words at the centre of the programme.
