Zappa, Frank & The Mothers | Mothermania The Best Of The M | 1LP

The Mothers, also known as The Mothers of Invention, formed when Frank Zappa teamed up with the R&B group The Soul Giants in 1964. Zappa emerged as their creative leader, and after signing to Verve Records the band was renamed The Mothers of Invention at the label's insistence, though it was often called The Mothers. Members on the band's 1960s albums included Bunk Gardner, Motorhead Sherwood, Don Preston, Ian Underwood and Art Tripp.

Mothermania (The Best Of The Mothers) is a 1 LP vinyl compilation by Frank Zappa & The Mothers, released on Zappa Records in July 2019 with a playing time of 40 minutes 34 seconds. Many of the songs were first released on albums from 1966 to 1968, and this collection includes mixes or edits made specifically for it. Frank Zappa is credited as composer and compilation producer, and Tom Wilson as master producer.
