Frank Zappa & The Mothers Of Invention | Vancouver Workout (2cd) | 2CD
Frank Zappa was an American composer, lyricist, songwriter, guitarist, vocalist, bandleader, conductor, producer and filmmaker, born on 21 December 1940 in Baltimore, Maryland, and died on 4 December 1993 in Los Angeles, California. His music combined an understanding of contemporary classical composers such as Igor Stravinsky, Karlheinz Stockhausen and Edgard Varèse with late 1950s doo-wop, rock and roll and guitar-heavy rock. He was also a keen satirist and a prolific record-maker, whose records were issued on his own labels and through distribution deals with Rykodisc and Rhino Entertainment Company.
Vancouver Workout is an unofficial two-disc CD release by Frank Zappa and The Mothers, issued by Zip City on 8 July 2016. The recording is taken from an FM broadcast made in Vancouver, BC, Canada, on 1 October 1975. The compositions are credited to Frank Zappa, Jack Bruce and Jim Gordon.
