Zappa Frank | Halloween 1978 Highlights LIV | 2LP

Frank Zappa was an American composer, guitarist, bandleader, conductor, producer and filmmaker, born in Baltimore, Maryland, on 21 December 1940 and died in Los Angeles on 4 December 1993. His music combined rock with influences from contemporary classical composers such as Igor Stravinsky, Karlheinz Stockhausen and Edgard Varèse, alongside late 1950s doo-wop and rock and roll. He was also a satirist, and his lyrics were known for their humour and parody.

This is a live recording of highlights from Zappa's Halloween shows in New York, issued as a two-disc vinyl LP album. The Halloween shows were a concert tradition in New York City, and this set draws on the 1978 performances at the Palladium. It was released by Zappa Records on 24 October 2025.
