Genesis | New York By The Pound (2cd) | 2CD

Genesis were formed at Charterhouse School in Godalming, Surrey, in 1967, and are among the top 30 highest-selling recording artists of all time. Their early work, with founder member Peter Gabriel as vocalist, was characterised by complex song structures and elaborate instrumentation. After Gabriel left in August 1975, Phil Collins took on lead vocals, and the remaining three members moved into more accessible pop-based music, which brought huge growth in the band's popularity through the 1980s and early 1990s.

New York By The Pound is an unofficial 2 CD release by Genesis, issued on Unicorn in Europe in 2022, with a total running time of 145 minutes. Tracks 1 to 4 on both discs are from a live FM broadcast recorded at the Felt Forum, New York City, on 22 November 1973. Disc 2 tracks 5 to 7 are from a live FM broadcast recorded at the Paris Theatre, London, on 2 March 1972.
