Gentle Giants - The Songs Of D | Various Artists | CD
Don Williams was an American country singer whose warm baritone and restrained delivery earned him the nickname the Gentle Giant. His recordings place clear storytelling and memorable melodies ahead of vocal display, giving songs about relationships, loyalty and everyday experience an enduring sense of intimacy.
Gentle Giants: The Songs of Don Williams brings different country performers together to interpret Williams' repertoire. The changing voices give the familiar songs contrasting settings, while their clear melodies and understated storytelling remain the link between the performances. The collection celebrates the songwriting through new interpretations rather than original Williams recordings.
