George Duke | George Duke Collection | CD

George Duke was an American keyboard player, composer and producer whose music ranged across jazz, funk, soul and fusion. His recordings unite sophisticated musicianship with a strong sense of groove, using electric keyboards, expressive vocals and ensemble arrangements to move easily between different musical traditions.

The George Duke Collection brings selected recordings together to show the keyboard player's range across jazz, funk and soul. The changing arrangements place improvisation, rhythm and melodic writing in different balances, giving the listener a compact view of a musician whose sound developed through both solo work and collaboration.
