George Szell & Cleve | Schubert Symphony No. 9 Grea | 1LP

George Szell's long association with the Cleveland Orchestra produced performances known for precision, balance and disciplined ensemble playing. Their recordings place orchestral detail within a clear overall structure, allowing the individual instrumental sections to contribute to an unusually coherent interpretation of the symphonic repertoire.

Schubert's Ninth Symphony, the Great C Major, is presented by George Szell and the Cleveland Orchestra. The performance connects the work's broad scale with clarity of orchestral detail, allowing recurring rhythmic ideas and changing instrumental colours to support the long musical argument across its four movements.
