German Drinking Songs | Various Artists | 2CD

German drinking songs belong to a communal singing tradition in which familiar melodies and approachable refrains encourage participation. A various artists collection brings different voices and arrangements into that shared repertoire, connecting the individual performances through their social setting and their emphasis on memorable tunes.

German Drinking Songs gathers various performers into a two disc programme of communal song. Familiar refrains and lively arrangements give the selection its social character, while the changing voices bring variety to the repertoire. The release is organised around its song tradition rather than the catalogue of one artist.
