Gerry & Pacemakers | Ferry Cross The Mersey Best O | CD

Gerry and the Pacemakers were a Liverpool group closely associated with the Merseybeat sound of the 1960s. Gerry Marsden's distinctive voice linked exuberant pop performances with more reflective ballads, giving the band's recordings a character that reached beyond the immediate energy of the beat boom.

Ferry Cross the Mersey: The Best of Gerry and the Pacemakers gathers recordings associated with the Liverpool group's popular repertoire. The title song's reflective mood sits within a catalogue also known for bright, direct beat group performances, allowing Gerry Marsden's distinctive voice to connect the different songs.
