Green Day | 21st Century Breakdown | CD

Green Day are an American band whose music developed from the Californian punk scene into a broader rock sound. Billie Joe Armstrong's melodic songwriting combines with direct guitar, bass and drum arrangements, while later albums extend that approach into linked narratives.

Released in 2009, 21st Century Breakdown follows American Idiot with another large-scale rock narrative. Produced by Butch Vig, it follows the characters Christian and Gloria across three sections, combining compact punk songs with more expansive arrangements and recurring themes.
