Heresy began as Plasmid, a three-piece politically themed fast hardcore punk band formed by Reevsy on guitar and vocals and his 15 year old cousin Steve on drums. After bassist Kalv joined, they took the more metallic name Heresy and played local shows, and their influences included Discharge and US hardcore bands. Their six-track flexi was released on a DIY label jointly funded by Kalv and Dig, and its 3000 copies sold out right away.

This 1 CD compilation gathers Heresy recordings from 1985 to 1987 and was released in 2005 by Boss Tuneage. The notes describe a first studio demo recorded at Pavilion Studio in Nottingham in September 1985, a December 1985 session from the same studio that was issued as the Never Healed flexi EP, live material from the Dortmund Tape of April 1987, and May 1987 recordings at Radio Trent Studios that were released as an EP. Credits list John March and Reevsy on vocals, Reevsy also on guitar, Mitchell Dickinson on guitar, Kalvin Piper on bass and Stephen Charlesworth on drums.
