Heresy | 1985 - '87 | LP
Heresy began as Plasmid, a three-piece politically themed fast hardcore punk band formed by Reevsy on guitar and vocals and his 15 year old cousin Steve on drums. After bassist Kalv joined, they took the more metallic name Heresy and played local shows, and their influences included Discharge and US hardcore bands. Their six-track flexi was released on a DIY label jointly funded by Kalv and Dig, and its 3000 copies sold out right away.
This is a 1 disc vinyl LP compilation released by Boss Tuneage in 2010. It draws on recordings made in 1985 and 1987, including a studio demo recorded in September 1985 at Pavilion Studio in Nottingham and tracks recorded there in December 1985 that were released as the Never Healed flexi EP. The record also includes two live tracks from a 1987 Dortmund tape and four tracks recorded at Radio Trent Studios in Nottingham in May 1987, which were released as a 7 inch EP. Some of the material is previously unreleased.
