James Taylor | American Standard | CD

James Taylor is an American singer-songwriter whose music draws on folk, pop and American roots traditions. His measured vocal phrasing and fingerpicked guitar style give both original songs and interpretations of other writers' material a consistent, understated musical character.

Released in 2020, American Standard revisits songs from the American popular songbook. Taylor and guitarist John Pizzarelli build the arrangements around acoustic guitar rather than a conventional piano-led setting, connecting the repertoire with the instrumental approach familiar from Taylor's own recordings.
