Japan | From The Budokan Tokyo Fm, 1982 (2cd) | 2CD
Japan is a new wave, art rock and synth pop band formed in London in early 1974. The line-up comprised David Sylvian on vocals, Steve Jansen on drums, Richard Barbieri on keyboards and Mick Karn on saxophone and bass, with Rob Dean joining as guitarist. After three albums with Ariola-Hansa they moved to Virgin Records in 1980, and the group had several UK Top 20 singles during the New Romantic movement. They split in late 1982, and came back together in 1991 as Rain Tree Crow, without Dean.
Live From The Budokan Tokyo FM, 1982 is a two disc CD album issued on Voiceprint as an unofficial release. The recording was made in 1982 and broadcast on Tokyo FM as part of Ryuichi Sakamoto's SOUND STREET radio show.
