Joboxers | Essential Boxerbeat | CD

JoBoxers is a London-based band fronted by American expat Dig Wayne, with Rob Marche on guitar, Dave Collard on keyboards, Chris Bostock on bass and Sean McLusky on drums. The members first played several times with Dig Wayne in Soho clubs as Subway Sect before disbanding in 1982. They kept in touch with Wayne, formed a quintet, took on the name JoBoxers and moved to Ronnie Scott's. Their debut single, 82689, reached number three on the British charts in April 1983, and their debut album, 83843, reached the UK Top 20, but later releases did not match this early success before the band broke up after three years.

Essential Boxerbeat is a one-disc CD compilation by JoBoxers, released in 2022 on Cooking Vinyl. Dig Wayne sings on the release, and the producers credited are Alan Shacklock and Chris Kimsey. The instrumental credits include Rob Marche on acoustic guitar, Chris Bostock on bass, Sean McLusky on drums and David Collard on keyboards.
