Joey Alexander | Origin | CD

Joey Alexander is an Indonesian jazz pianist whose recordings combine expressive improvisation with detailed ensemble interaction. His playing gives melodic lines, changing harmonies and rhythmic phrasing a central role, balancing reflective passages with more expansive exchanges among the accompanying musicians.

Origin includes Remembering (05:44), On the Horizon (05:28), Dear Autumn (05:38). The programme places Joey Alexander’s distinctive performances within a sequence of contrasting musical passages, presented here in a CD edition.
