Johnathan Blake | Homeward Bound | CD

Johnathan Blake is an American jazz drummer and composer whose work combines rhythmic invention with ensemble interaction. His recordings as a leader place the drums within carefully shaped group arrangements rather than treating them only as accompaniment.

Released in 2021, Homeward Bound is his Blue Note debut. The album introduces his Pentad ensemble through an eight-track programme, bringing original writing and improvisation together in a five-musician setting.
