Candi Staton | Chance | CD

Candi Staton is an American singer whose career connects gospel, Southern soul and disco. Her expressive voice and emotionally direct performances made recordings such as Young Hearts Run Free enduring dance and soul favourites.

Chance places Candi Staton’s soulful voice in an extended late-1970s dance setting. When You Wake Up Tomorrow and the title song sit within a six-track programme that combines disco rhythm with the emotional force of her gospel-rooted singing.
