Manfred Mann's Earth Band | Nightingales And Bombers | LP

Manfred Mann's Earth Band is a rock band formed in 1971 by the keyboardist Manfred Mann, who was born in South Africa and had earlier been in the 1960s pop group that bore his name. Mann's use of the Moog synthesizer was key to the band's sound. The band had a successful period in the mid 1970s and early 1980s, was disbanded by Mann in 1987, and was reformed by him in 1991, after which it became a regular live band with extensive tours mostly in Europe.

Nightingales & Bombers is a vinyl LP album by Manfred Mann's Earth Band, released on Creature Music in 2015. The album was recorded in 1975 at the Workhouse, Old Kent Road, and is in the prog rock style. Manfred Mann is credited on organ and synthesizer, Mick Rogers on guitar and vocals, and Chris Slade on drums. The credits also include Colin Pattenden on bass, a cello, viola and violin section, and three backing vocalists.
