Manfred Mann's Earth Band | Soft Vengeance | CD
Manfred Mann's Earth Band is a rock band formed in 1971 by the keyboardist Manfred Mann, who was born in South Africa and had earlier been in the 1960s pop group that bore his name. Mann's use of the Moog synthesizer was key to the band's sound. The band had a successful period in the mid 1970s and early 1980s, was disbanded by Mann in 1987, and was reformed by him in 1991, after which it became a regular live band with extensive tours mostly in Europe.
Soft Vengeance is a one disc CD album by Manfred Mann's Earth Band, released on The Grapevine Label in 1996. Manfred Mann and Richard James Burgess are credited as producers, and Chris Thompson and Noel McCalla share the lead vocals. Russell Hoban is credited for speech, and the album is listed in the pop rock and classic rock styles.
