Manfred Mann's Earth Band | The Roaring Silence (2lp Book) | 2LP
Manfred Mann's Earth Band is a rock band formed in 1971 by the keyboardist Manfred Mann, who was born in South Africa and had earlier been in the 1960s pop group that bore his name. Mann's use of the Moog synthesizer was key to the band's sound. The band had a successful period in the mid 1970s and early 1980s, was disbanded by Mann in 1987, and was reformed by him in 1991, after which it became a regular live band with extensive tours mostly in Europe.
The Roaring Silence (50th Anniversary Edition) is a limited two LP album reissue by Manfred Mann's Earth Band, released in 2026 by Creature Music. The album includes the US number one hit Blinded By The Light. This edition pairs the original album with a bonus album of three new tracks and live versions of songs from the album, drawn from the original period and recent concerts. Chris Thompson is credited on vocals and guitar, Dave Flett on lead guitar, and Chris Slade on drums and percussion.
