£10.00
Maurice Ravel was a French composer, pianist and conductor, born on 7 March 1875 in Ciboure, France, and died on 28 December 1937 in Paris. He is often associated with impressionism, alongside his elder contemporary Claude Debussy, although both composers rejected the term. His orchestral works are detached from the Germanic symphonic tradition, and themes inspired by Spanish folklore can be found in them.
Bolero / Rapsodie Espagnole is a 1 CD compilation of orchestral works by Maurice Ravel, released on 20 October 2011 on Deutsche Grammophon. Seiji Ozawa conducts the Boston Symphony Orchestra on this recording.
