Davis, Miles | Original Album Series | 5CD

Miles Davis was an American trumpeter, bandleader and composer, born in Alton, Illinois on 26 May 1926 and died in Santa Monica, California on 28 September 1991. His career spanned five decades and included several major developments in jazz, among them the creation of the hard bop style in the mid-1950s and, in the late 1960s, the introduction of electronic instruments and rock and funk rhythms into his music. Around 1975 he took a hiatus over health and personal problems, returning in 1980.

Original Album Series is a five disc box set compilation of five original albums by Miles Davis, released on Warner Bros. Records in September 2012. The albums are packaged in mini LP sleeves inside a cardboard slipcase. The styles associated with the release are bop, hard bop, fusion and soundtrack.
