Mortiis | The Shadow Of The Tower (Dark Red Vinyl) | LP

Ellefsen was previously bass player in the Norwegian black metal band Emperor before pursuing a solo career as Mortiis. The early music was synthesizer-based ambient soundtracks, and Mortiis is often considered the progenitor of the dungeon synth style. From 2001 the music moved into song-based territory with electro, synth pop and heavy guitars, and in 2020 the group began performing the early dungeon synth material again.
