Nina Simone | The Greatest Hits | CD

Nina Simone was an American singer and pianist whose repertoire connected jazz, blues, gospel, folk and soul. Her classically informed piano playing and distinctive vocal phrasing gave both personal songs and socially engaged material a recognisable musical character.

This The Greatest Hits CD brings together selected recordings from Simone's catalogue. The retrospective places different songs and arrangements within a single programme, offering a view of the vocal interpretation and piano-centred musical approach that connect her varied repertoire.
