Oceania was a collaboration between Killing Joke's Jaz Coleman, who had moved to New Zealand a decade earlier, and singer, songwriter and television producer Hinewehi Mohi. The project released its first recording in 1999 and aimed to combine traditional Māori music with the music of the modern world. Coleman stressed that it was not a sampling project, and the music was written for and played on authentic Māori instruments by master Māori musicians.

Oceania is a single CD album released by Point Music in 1999. Jaz Coleman is credited as producer and Philip Glass as executive producer, with Hinewehi Mohi credited as writer and vocalist. Performers include taonga puoro players Bernard Makoare, Hirini Melbourne and Rangiiria Hedley, along with haka vocalists.
