Old Man's Child | In Defiance Of Existence | CD

Old Man's Child is a Norwegian melodic black metal band from Jessheim and Oslo, founded in 1993. Its roots lie in a cover band called Requiem, formed in 1989 by Galder and Tjodalv to play Metallica and Slayer songs, which became a death metal band before changing to black metal and taking the name Old Man's Child later in 1993. Excluding the band's early years, it has been very much a solo project of Galder, who used session musicians on albums and tours. Galder revived the band in 2019, and in 2025 it made its first live performances in 25 years.

In Defiance Of Existence is a one disc CD album reissue by Old Man's Child, released on 15 May 2026 by Back On Black. Galder is credited with vocals and as producer, and the music is credited to Galder and Jardar. Nicholas Barker plays drums, and Gus G. appears as guest lead guitarist.
