Dave Brubeck | For Iola | CD

Dave Brubeck was an American jazz pianist and composer whose recordings combine melodic improvisation with an interest in unusual rhythms and musical structures. His work with small ensembles gives the exchange between piano, horns and rhythm-section players a central role, developing pieces through detailed musical conversation.

For Iola presents Brubeck Dave in this CD edition. The programme includes Polly, I Hear a Rhapsody, Thank You, bringing the individual performances together within the release’s recorded sequence.
