Various Artists | Cajun & Zydeco Classics | CD

The performers represented on Cajun & Zydeco Classics draw on related Louisiana musical traditions. Their recordings connect vocals with rhythmic instrumental arrangements, giving dance patterns, melodic lines and the interplay between ensemble members a central role in the selections.

Cajun & Zydeco Classics brings ten recordings by different performers together on CD. My Toot-Toot and Promised Land introduce a selection of Louisiana-rooted vocal and instrumental performances, with rhythmic ensemble playing and contrasting arrangements connecting the programme.
