Paul Chambers | Bass On Top | CD

Paul Chambers was an American jazz double bassist and a central member of Miles Davis’s first great quintet. His melodic improvisation, assured time and distinctive bowed solos made him one of the defining bass players of the hard-bop era.

Bass on Top places Paul Chambers’s double bass at the centre of a small-group jazz programme, giving both his plucked and bowed playing space to lead.
