Bobby Hutcherson | Total Eclipse | CD

Bobby Hutcherson was an American jazz vibraphonist whose recordings explored both melodic ensemble playing and more open musical structures. The vibraphone's clear tone and sustained resonance interact with the other instruments, giving harmony, rhythm and improvisation a distinctive colour.

Total Eclipse presents Bobby Hutcherson's 1968 jazz album on CD. The ensemble includes Harold Land, Chick Corea, Reggie Johnson and Joe Chambers, placing the vibraphone within a programme of melodic writing and individual improvisation.
