Donald Byrd was an American jazz trumpeter whose recordings span small-group jazz and later explorations of soul and funk influences. His performances develop composed themes through improvisation and ensemble exchanges, bringing the trumpet into conversation with the other instruments and their rhythmic arrangements.
Chant (Tone Poet Vinyl) presents Donald Byrd in this vinyl edition. The programme includes I'm An Old Cowhand, You're Next, Chant, connecting the individual performances within the album programme.
