WAR | CD Collection 1977-1994, The | CD

War is a Latin funk group that started in Southern California in the early 1970s, formed from the remains of the R&B covers group The Creators. Producer Jerry Goldstein discovered them and gave them the name War, and they signed to United Artists before peaking commercially in the mid-1970s with the number 1 hit Low Rider. Later line-up changes and the loss of key members left the group less successful, and it became largely a touring act. Hip-hop artists have heavily sampled their music, introducing it to a new generation.

This is a five disc CD box set of War's albums Platinum Funk (1977), Galaxy (1977), The Music Band (1979), Outlaw (1982) and Peace Sign (1994), with newly remastered tracks. It was released as a limited edition by Avenue Records on 29 November 2024.
