Hugh Masekela was a South African flugelhorn, trumpet and cornet player, born in 1939 and died in 2018. In 1961, as part of the anti-apartheid campaign, he was exiled to the United States, where Harry Belafonte befriended him. He had a number one hit with Grazing in the Grass, and he played mainly in jazz ensembles.
