Pierre Boulez | Conducts Modern Classics | DVD

Pierre Boulez was a French composer and conductor closely associated with twentieth-century concert music. His conducting brought detailed attention to rhythm, instrumental balance and musical structure, allowing changing ensemble colours and individual lines to shape the performance.

Pierre Boulez conducts the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in twentieth-century repertoire filmed in Cologne in 2000. Christine Schäfer joins the orchestra for vocal works. The EuroArts DVD presents Berg, Debussy and Stravinsky in the verified programme order below; no unsupported movement or menu-chapter titles have been added.
