The Vernons Girls began as a choir put together in the 1950s as part of the social activities of Vernon's Pools, the Liverpool-based football pool company. The original full troupe disbanded after the start of the 1960s, and the group carried on as a vocal trio headed up by Maureen Kennedy. Several former members went on to solo careers and other singing groups, and Lyn Cornell became a successful soloist.

This is a one-disc compilation released in the UK on the Él label on 17 November 2017, credited to The Vernons Girls and Lyn Cornell. It is listed in the pop genre with a vocal style.
