Shamen | Boss Drum | CD

The Shamen is a band formed in Aberdeen, Scotland, in 1985 by Colin Angus, Derek McKenzie and Keith McKenzie, under the name Alone Again Or, before taking the name The Shamen later that year. Their early music was psychedelic indie rock, and from 1987 Colin Angus moved the group toward sampling and dance sounds, with Will Sin joining on bass. The band became one of the early pioneers of indie-dance, and in 1989 they released the album In Gorbachev We Trust before relocating to London.

Boss Drum is a 1992 album by The Shamen, released as one CD on One Little Indian. The Shamen produced it, with mixing by Brian Pugsley and The Shamen. Colin Angus is credited with vocals, guitar and programming, and vocal performances come from Jhelisa Anderson and Mr. C. Listed styles include acid house, techno and euro house.
